The boy stepped out onto the empty rooftop. Monday mornings were the worst and to think classes were going to start in just two hours. As usual he had barely slept but that seemed to have very little effect on him now. Walking over to the ledge he lent on the railings and looked out at the veiw. Grass, trees, road. Nothing new. In the very distance you could see the town but the students were only supposed to go there on weekends, but since when had rules stopped anyone? Heck if he cared for rules he would wear school uniform and he wouldnt wag classes among other things. The weekend had been pretty damned good for him, days with music, nights with clubs, hence more music. He sighed and wondered what his family would be doing right at this moment. His foster family that was, his new family could get abducted by aliens for all he cared. His mother had left him and his father had left them both! Alec was determined that one day he would have a family of his own and he would bring them up right. He'd never let his own children live a life like his. No never. He'd never wish his problems on anyone, though there were people who had alot worse to deal with. It was nice up here, he would say the peace and quiet was comforting but he had his earphones in as always with Sky Eats Airplane screaming in his ears. Good band. Good music. But he could say that the sun and breeze were nice.
Moving away from the edge he rejected the seats that sat on offer and lowered himself to the ground and lent back against the buildings brick wall. He pulled his ipod out of the pocket of his grey skinny leg jeans and turned the volume down a bit. What the heck was he gonna do today? The day had only just started and he was already over it. He knew he should go to class, he was after all, semi-trying to get his life back on track. Fxck like thats gonna work he growled in his head. He'd been off the rails since he was what? 9? Why did he think he could fix it now? He was a mess emotionally but he'd never tell anyone that. Nope his depression was his secret. Just like the fact that the people he went home to see every couple of months werent really his real family and the fact that his real father was an alcoholic and his mother didnt seem to care at all. He remembered being a little kid and thinking how one day he hoped to find someone as nice as his mother to be his friend. She'd changed now.
He closed his eyes and listened to the music. He'd been here just over a year now and music was still his only escape from people. Dont get it wrong, he loved to make friends and help people. Alec was always the first person to try and brighten your day even when his own was giving him hell but he still like privacy and to be alone sometimes. As for right now he still wasnt sure if he wanted someone to come up here and join him or not. Maybe a friend would be good, he had just spent the whole night awake alone after all. The sun flooded down over assisting his black hoodie to warm him. The hoodie was a band one, Escape the Fate. On the back in bright green was the zombie metal logo and both front and back had Escape the Fate scribbled on them in the same green. Alec loved band hoodies and tees and had quite an impressive collection, all belonging to screamo and alternative rock bands. He opened his eyes and pulled his knees up a little and settled back into the wall to wait for class or someone to come, either way.

What went through the girls head? No one knew. Not even she knew. She had been at the school all of what? A year? And already she had made a reputation for herself. And not even one she hated. Although it did complicate things, seeing as a lot of people had heard of her. She was strong. Someone wanted to insult her? Call her a slut? A bitch? Yeah, she didn't care. Most of the time she'd even agree with them. When she did this, that normally threw them off balance. She didn't care what they said. No one could hurt her as much as she could hurt herself. Everyone knew Layla, but probably not in a good way. No one cared or even knew of her talents or flaws. All they cared about was they could get free sex. Even if she was more into older men, which was probably why she always hit on her male teachers, she was willing to drop her age standards or a night or two. Everyone knew she wasn't into a serious relationship. All they cared about was she was hot, she was young, and she was willing.
Wearing only a short pink skirt that barely covered anything and a light blue strapless top that tied at the front, just above her stomach, showing a lot of breast, topped with blue high heeled shoes, she entered the building. If there was no building, I guess we'll settle for the rooftop, if that's okay with you Lollypops. It'd better be or I'll bite your nose off. Anyway, she had spent quite a lot of time up there recently. It was a good place to pick up dates when she wasn't in town. She had seen this one guy from a distance, and had known from the moment she saw him, she had to have him, to add him to her collection. She had looked everywhere for him, and decided she'd probably never see him again, she'd tried for months, with no luck. So now, strolling, or saunting (if that's a word, I know what I mean, you should too.) across the roof, waiting for someone to come up, her eyes layed rest on the one she seeked.
Smiling to herself, her brown wavy hair falling around her shoulders, blue eyes sparkling, she made her way towards him, eyes focused on her prize. She walked with soft feet, making almost no sound, but making her point clear in her walk, looking maybe like a model would. Leaning down over him, so he had a clear view down her top, she ran her hand up his leg slowly, staring into his eyes, a cute smile on her face, her lips barely parting as she spoke three words. You're pretty cute. Her voice sounded a bit like a wind chime. Soft, high and beautiful to the ear. Her whole body was slim and tanned and perfectly in proportion.

Alec had never wanted to come to this wretched school but he had been forced by his mother. He hated her now. Not for sending him here so much as for only bothering to show up on the doorstep to force him into something. She hadnt been there for him when he was in hospital, heck she was the whole reason he had ended up there and the reason he was such a mess now. He cant imagine ever wanting to come to a boarding school, he was always amazed by people who said they had choosen to come here. They must have really hated home, much like he had hated the hospital he supposed. As he adjusted the black studded leather cuff that currently hid the marks of his depression he didnt hear the door to the rooftop open, nor did he see the girl stepping out. Infact he didnt notice her until she had nearly reached him. He was amazed at her. How could she do that to herself? Just sell herself like that? He knew instantly who she was, damn, everyone knew who she was. It was weird what people could get famous for at high school, for being pretty, mean and apparently for sleeping with everyone. Alec wasnt all that popular, he had his friends and that was all he needed. He didnt want to be popular to be honest. He liked having new people to meet when he was bored and he liked his privacy.
When she finally reached him he pulled one earphone out of his ear and she lent down over him. Knowing who she was he instantly felt uncomfortable and her hand on his leg really didnt help. To be honest he didnt really want what she was offering. Alec was one of those sentimental types when it came to that sort of thing. It had to mean something. He had to admit she was pretty, but not so much dressed like that. He had to be one of the few guys in the school who wouldnt sleep with her cause he guessed there werent many who wouldnt. You're pretty cute Her voice came to him high and as pretty as her face. "Thanks I think" he said smiling slightly as he gently removed her hand from his leg. If she honestly thought she was gonna get Alec she had another thing coming. Sure Alec liked girls as much as the next guy but it didnt mean he was going to have sex with anyone who offered it, no that definitely wasnt Alec's style. He rubbed lightly at his snake bites then flicked his head to get his hair out of his eyes watching her to see how she reacted to him moving her hand off him.

Completely unfazed by his removing her hand, Layla tried for a different tactic. She smiled sweetly at him, making herself look perfectly innocent. Somehow, this had become her way of leaving. She no longer believed someone could like her for who she was. Who she really was. She had changed a lot, even from before she came to this school. She wanted this boy to like her. She was going to make him like her. There was no way around it. She would just make him. Using her knees to hold her weight, and leaned forwards, placing her hands on the wall behind him, and rubbed her chest gently on his. She then removed on hand, putting move pressure onto his chest, and ran her hand up the length of his leg and took hold of his penis, and rubbed it gently, a look of cute innocence on her face. Progressing fast, giving him no time to react, she rested her lips onto his and started kissing him passionately. No guy had ever refused this. Even the toughest ones. She was sure she'd win him now.
((Sorry, its EXTREMELY short, but you'll be able to get a reply outta it.))

His rejection seemed to have no effect and for just a minute he thought she'd given up. He should have know better. The players of Emarosa rarely gave up and Layla was known for getting what she wanted. What was confusing him was why she wanted him. Fifty percent of the student population was male so why was she bothering with him when he so clearly didnt want what she was offering?
He remained where he was as she put her hands on the wall behind him, just above his shoulders, trapping him then began pushing her body onto his as if she could change his mind. She moved fast, acting before he had time to even think about reacting. Her hand ran up his leg and she bought her lips to his. It took him a second to regain his mental footing and catch up to what she was going. It was hard to keep up to something you weren't expecting. Her kisses were passionate, and obvisouly well practised. He caught himself quickly, turning his head to the side to keep his lips out of reach. He took her hand gently off him once again, he wasnt going to do this. Most guys would have let her go further then that by now but not Alec. If she had of been his girlfriend, or even a girl he liked he might not have been pushing her away like that but she wasnt either of those. She was just one of the players. It was strange, in his year here he'd only come across players twice and neither of those times had they been this persistant.
Sighing he stood up to free himself of the little cage she had created with her arms and body. How anyone could become a player he didnt know. What was the joy in sleeping with hundreds of different people? Dont worry Alec wasnt one of those 'absense is key' people, he just believed if you were going to sleep with someone you had to love them. He moved away from her over to the edge of the rooftop, hoping that if he walked away she would give up, he knew she wouldnt but it was worth a try right? Leaning on the railing with his back to the rooftop, and... whatever her name was, he pulled the sleeve of his jumper down over his left hand subconciously. There was another reason to not sleep with this girl. It would be impossible to hide the scars and cuts that covered his wrists and hips. He wondered what his family would say if they knew he had sunk back into self-harm, they had been so hurt last time. He was always careful to make sure no-one would ever see. The music coming from his earphones was loud enough for him to hear the drums and parts of the guitars but it was enough for him to know that it was death breath by bring me the horizon.

Finally feeling the rejection, Layla's mood changed in a heartbeat. From the confident, flirty girl, she became nasty, unreasonable, and completely unable to control her actions. Her cute smile turned to fury, depression, and hurt that went deeper than her soul. No one had ever rejected her before. She stood up, stormed over to him, fists clenched, and, even though she was a lot shorter than he was, started screaming at him. Swearing and calling him every name she could think of. The overall effect of the pretty girl showing such anger, although never seen before, would be enough to frighten most people, even if she was short. She raised her clenched fist and brought it hard towards his face, but her attempt, although would leave a bruise and had probably injured her hand, was worthless as he blocked her hit. She went again, aiming for his stomach and ready to follow with another. However, once again, she was stopped by the guy, surprisingly, she didn't actually know his name. He had grabbed her small wrist, which completely changed her thought pattens from attack to getting away. When she got her wrist free, or he released her, she wasn't sure which, her anger had fled, and now only deep pain was showing. She turned quickly on her heel, and made to leave. However, instead of walking to the exit door to get back into the building, she walked over to the rail. For a moment, she rested her hands on the rail, leaving slightly forwards, her head hung. In what seemed like no time at all, she had decided her plan of action. She couldn't keep going, this guy would make a fool of her. He did'nt like her, wasn't interested in her. She'd never had to worry about that before. Quickly, before she could change her mind, she swung her legs over the rail and held on, leaning back into it, thinking of how little an impact she had had on the world, and how few people would miss her or care that she was gone forever. The only thing they'd miss was the free sex and her good looks.

Alec looked out over the grounds from his place on the rooftop. The school looked alot bigger then it really was, the field and gardens helping to create that illusion. His attention was drawn back to the girl as he heard her move but he didnt turn around until she got close. The expression on her face shocked him for a second. She was so angry, it was shown clearly in her speed and the way she moved. It wouldnt have been more obvious had he stuck a neon sign to her head saying 'Angry!'. But he had very little time to consider this as she swung a fist at his head. In a reflex action his arm came up and her hit collided with his forearm. Now that he was standing she looked strangley short, not what you'd expect from a girl whos anger gave her the idea that she could beat up a guy. As her second fist swung towards his stomach he knew to be watching her hands and managed to catch her wrist before she hit him. "Oi." He said as he caught her, his fingers wrapping tightly around her small wrist.
Suddenly she changed tactics, instead of attacking she began fighting trying to free herself. He held on for a minute but then let her free, there was no point holding on she wasnt going to calm down and she'd only end up hurting one of them. Letting go appeared to release her rage and it drained from her face leaving raw pain. Had his rejection really hurt her that much? Alec instantly felt a little guilty, only a little. He hated being responsible for other peoples pain but on the other hand that didnt give her the right to do that to him. She turned away from him and he relaxed for a minute, hoping she would leave and sort herself out. She didnt look like the type to talk her problems out. But then she wasnt heading for the exit, she was heading towards the railing. Her fingers wrapped around the railing and she hung her head for a moment before swinging over the railing. Warning alarms instantly went off in his head. What the hell was she doing!?
He took a step forward as she lent back away from the building and when her face showed no fear, only intense pain he went over to where she was. She wasnt going to succeed in jumping, or falling as it may be, not with Alec here. He was not going to watch another death. Two was more enough. It was clear she wasnt going to accept help so he took one of her hands and pulled her quickly back in towards the building. "Come on" He said calmly. His arms wrapped around her waist and he got her back onto his side of the railing, even without her co-operation. Even when he had her back on the roof he didnt let go instead he kept her restrained against him, her back to him. He wasnt sure what to expect from her now. More seduction? more anger? tears? He still didnt even know her name let alone how she would react to anything.

Death didn't frighten her. In fact, at that moment, she welcomed it. Death, her death, her dying, seemed a better option to her than staying alive. She was going to let go. In fact, she was just about to, when someone grabbed her. Somehow, she didn't make the connection between the guy and the person holding her. She tried to fight free. Being dragged back over a rail, even though saved her life, also hurt her. Her leg caught on something, and, as she was pulled backwards, cut into her leg about 10 inches long, although not deep enough to need stitches. She tried to gain her footing, but at the same time, tried to free herself. However, her strength was no where near his.
She fought to get away for roughly three minutes, trying to pull his hands off her, digging in her finger nails and struggling. In the end, she knew her effects were futile and she gave up, collapsing the the ground, silent tears flowing from her eyes, her body shaking with grief.

He saw the cut but didnt worry about it, it wasnt deep enough to do any damage. Besides right now he was pre-occupied with trying to get her to calm down while she struggled against his grip. Her nails sunk into his arm desparately trying to free her but he refused to let go. He had to admire the amount of fight in her but right now he just needed her to calm down. He wasnt going to hurt her and she wasnt thinking, well not rationally anyway. By now most guys would have shrugged and walked away, bailing before things got nasty but not Alec, he cared to much, even for those he didnt know. Against him he felt her fight weakening and let his arms loosen a bit, lessening the pressure and she finally broke, collapsing to the ground in sudden tears. The tears that flowed freely over her cheeks were silent and he instantly hurt as he thought about how not only would most guys have walked away but most guys wouldnt have caused this in the first place though he wasnt entirely responsible for that part.
He lowered himself to sit beside her and pulled her in again, rocking them slightly from side to side as a mother would a child. He remained silent letting her get her thoughts back in order. He half expected at any moment that her attitude would change again and she'd start yelling at him for trying to calm her down by pulling her close and holding her like this. He meant nothing by it, it was only a friendly notion nothing more. God this bought up so many memories. His mum, foster mum that was, had held him like this when he was younger and had been felt alone. That loneliness had never left him, it had lessened at times sure, but it was always there in his mind. His mum had left him. His dad had left them both and now... now everything was messed up and it was all his mums fault! He had been happy at home, and then his mother had made him come. Geez she didnt even have a good reason. He didnt even know why she wanted him here. It wasnt out of jealousy that he called his foster mum mum and her house his home and her family his family, it couldnt be that because she didnt want him. She had promised to come back and she hadn't. She had abandoned him.
He pushed his thoughts out of his head. He didnt want to think about her, he despised her, no hated, no loathed her. He loathed his mother. He had been sick and she hadnt come! he clenched his jaw as he thought it but then put all his attention to the girl he had his arms around. He found it hard to believe that his small rejection had sparked such a reaction in her. "You ok?" He asked gently. He was still waiting for her anger to flare up again, he had no idea what to expect from her but he stopped rocking them. Her leg was still bleeding but he didnt pay it any attention, it didnt look serious and it seemed to be the least of her problems right now.
