Finn Abel Calder sat on the beach on his day 'off' from school. Now it wasn't exactly a day off for everyone else. He just decided to ditch, and get away from everyone. Sometimes he felt as if the school social system was very very biased. But he would never try to change it for fear of being kicked out of top dog. He liked being top dog. It was great to feel as if he had a sense of power, which was something that he never got at home. At home there was no one to get a sense of power over. His father was always at the courts and his mother was always at the hospital. It seemed as if he was living by himself whenever he was there. On average, his parents spent four days out of the week overnight at there place of work. They even had beds in their offices, so that they could catch a wink in between their busy schedules. Sometimes he wished that they did come home.
Finn laid back into the sand and enjoyed the sun hitting his skin, he was drinking it all in. He pulled out his headphones from his ipod and let it play out loud. The song play was probably the closest thing to his theme song. It was S.E.X by Nickelback. Ah, a great song in his opinion. He thought that people should live by that song as a motto. Its always a question, never an answer cause the answers yes or the answers yes. It was something that he felt was an amazing thing. He knew that he could do that. He would always say yes when a girl asked. It would seem almost prissy for him to ever say no. It's not like he'd ever said it before, so in his mind why start now? Why break the beautiful chain? There was absolutely no reason in his mind.
Finn looked around the beach, seeing nearly nobody. It was a very nice day out, yet everyone was either in school or at work. So he had the beach to nearly himself. It was barren for but a few people here and there. Finn tapped his surfboard with his foot and looked at the nice swells that were coming in. None were too big for him, nor too small for him to ride. He sighed and plopped back onto his blanket. He was too lazy so early in the morning. In about an hour he'd go. But until then he'd take a nap. He told the nurse he didn't feel well so she excused him from school and said that he should go and sleep. So if he did that now, it wouldn't be completely lying to her. And if someone caught him he could always say that laying out in the sun with fresh, moist air always helped him to feel better. God, it was times like this that he thought of himself as a mini genius.
